Where Do We Go Without Third-Party Cookies?
Advertisers and business owners rely on third-party cookies and the data they produce to better understand consumers’ wants, needs, and behaviors. This data helps brands better target consumers, making for more impactful marketing efforts. Tracking consumer behavior on various websites allows us as advertisers to peek inside the minds of our consumers and see what sites they visit, how frequently, the duration of their stay, what they click on and look at, what they search within the site, and more.
All of this has allowed us to create specified and targeted ads that are relevant to each individual consumer. Unfortunately, though, this soon will no longer be the case. Google has announced it will be phasing out third-party cookies in 2023. If you’d like to learn more about this change and what it means for the advertising and marketing world check out this great article.
Essentially, this means that advertisers and business owners will have to rely on first-party data to target consumers. This is not the ideal situation, but the marketing and advertising world is constantly changing and as advertisers, we must be ready to change and grow with it.
At Vibrant Brands we pride ourselves on staying ahead of the curve. Let us help you navigate these changing times. We and work with your business to begin collecting first-party data that we can then utilize to create ads that your consumers will connect with and respond to.
